The situation
SKA Consulting Engineers is a nationally recognized firm with offices across three states and services spanning structural, building enclosure, MEP, roofing, commissioning, and structural repair. Their site was 2,500+ lines of tangled CSS, broken sliders, and no structured data. The content model didn't reflect the complexity of the business. Service pages, market pages, and projects were all flattened into generic posts with no filtering, no hierarchy, and no SEO strategy.
What I did
Built a custom WordPress theme from scratch. Designed it, coded it, optimized it.
8 custom post types with associated taxonomies. Filterable project archive with AJAX infinite scroll. Service and market pages with two-column layouts, logo sliders, and image galleries. Talent directory with modal bios loaded via fetch(). FAQ accordion system with automatic FAQPage schema injected into Yoast's structured data graph.
Audited the existing 2,580-line stylesheet, resolved duplicate blocks and Divi orphan selectors, and reduced it to 1,100 clean lines. Rebuilt all JavaScript from scratch as vanilla JS — no jQuery, no Divi framework.
Ongoing SEO work: page-level audits with optimized titles and meta descriptions, geo-qualified keyword targeting across NC, SC, and VA markets, URL cannibalization fixes, and quarterly analytics reporting from GA4 and Search Console.
Results
Perfect Lighthouse score across a complex site with 8 custom post types, AJAX-powered project filtering, and image sliders. Content architecture built so every engineer bio, project page, and service description is its own organic search asset. 190+ pages actively generating clicks from Google. FAQ schema, optimized meta, and quarterly performance reporting built into the workflow.
